Larissa Beilby's dad says finding out his daughter was dead, hit him like a sledgehammer.

The 16-year-old's body was found in the back of a ute in Staplyton last Wednesday, with 34-year-old Zlatko Sikorsky charged with her murder.

Nearly a week later, Larissa's father Peter Beilby broke his silence to Channel Nine.

"It was like a sledgehammer hit me. I can't put it into words; it was a physical thing," he said.

"For someone else to take your daughter and treat her like that, I just don't know how to get my head around it".

Peter said he wants his daughter to be remembered as the happy, cheeky and adventurous girl she was.

A Go Fund Me account set up in Larissa's name has raised more than 15 thousand dollars so far, and Peter said they will donate that money to charity.

"We would love it to go to some charity that's going to help keep kids safe," he said.

Meantime, police are urging the public to keep an eye out for a 2014, silver Holden Commodore (pictured) that might have been abandoned or parked somewhere suspicious.

They're still looking for the car, with registration number 966WKB, as the investigation into Larissa's death continues.
